The 2018 Christmas lectures were presented by Prof Alice Roberts and focussed on the origins of life. Part of the structure of the lecture included a hanging mobile featuring origami creatures that represented various stages of evolution. The mobile was lowered into the studio at relevant moments and creatures were added or discussed. The lecture first aired on BBC4 on 26th December 2018.
